Data protection

Health-Insurance.de does not use cookies or comparable tracking or recognition technologies.

The website "Health-Insurance.de" is an independent and consumer-oriented information portal on the topic of statutory health insurance funds in Germany. A high level of protection of privacy and thus also of personal data is the basis of our work.

In principle, you can visit and use our website without telling us who you are. We only collect and use personal data if you have consented to this or if we are legally permitted to do so. In this privacy policy, we explain how we protect data entrusted to us.

Health-Insurance.de does not use cookies or comparable tracking or recognition technologies.

1. Short-term logging of access data in log files
When you access websites, the website you visit, the page from which you came to us, the date, time, the operating system you use, characteristics of the display used, the browser used, the size of the volume of data transferred, the HTTP status code and the IP address of the accessing computer are stored in the log files automatically created by the server.

Our servers also record this data in a log file when you visit Health-Insurance.de. When storing the log files in our own systems, we delete the last digit of the IP address so that we ourselves have no possibility of identifying individual users via the IP address of the log files stored with us.

When using these general data and information, Health-Insurance.de does not draw any conclusions about the data subject. Log files are required to deliver the content of our website correctly and to ensure the permanent functionality of our website. The anonymously collected data and information are analysed in order to increase data protection and data security, to protect us against attacks and thus to ensure an optimal level of protection for the personal data we process.

2.1 Collection of personal data within the framework of the health insurance change service
On the Health-Insurance.de website, visitors are given the opportunity to request information about changing health insurance companies or to initiate a change of health insurance company. Personal data within the framework of the health insurance change service is information about the factual or personal circumstances of a specific person, insofar as the information is required to initiate a health insurance company entry or health insurance company change.

Which personal data is transmitted depends on the personal situation of the enquirer and results from the input masks used for this purpose. This data is required in order to send information or to initiate a desired change of health insurance provider. Without the provision and processing of this data, the goal desired by the enquirer could not be achieved.

Should you use our health insurance change service, you thereby consent to being contacted by post, telephone or e-mail only if it is necessary to carry out the health insurance change. These three ways of contacting you are necessary because certain documents can only be sent by post and in connection with the implementation of the scheduled change there may be very short periods of time available for queries.

Contact will only be made by Health-Insurance.de or the specialist department of the selected health insurance fund responsible for carrying out the switch or joining. The data will only be used to process this request and will then be deleted. Forwarding to third parties is excluded. The data will be transmitted in encrypted form.

Within the scope of using the forms for switching health insurance companies, we store the IP address assigned by the Internet service provider (ISP) of the computer system used by the interested party as well as the date and time of registration. The collection of this data is necessary in order to be able to trace any misuse of a data subject's email address at a later date. It helps us to prove that we have fully complied with the rules of data protection at all times.

The personal data collected as part of the health insurance change service is used exclusively for the purpose of sending information or changing health insurance. Data will only be forwarded to the chosen health insurance company. No personal data will be passed on to other third parties. The consent to the storage of personal data, which the data subject has given us for the purpose of sending information or changing health insurance company, can be revoked at any time by sending an e-mail to the contact address given below on this page.

Article 6(1)(a) DSGVO serves as the legal basis for processing operations where we obtain consent for a specific processing purpose. If the processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract, the processing is based on Art.6(1)(b) DSGVO. The same applies to such processing operations which are necessary for the performance of pre-contractual measures.

2.2 Collection of personal data in the context of the mediation of private health insurance or the mediation of a private health insurance expert
The focus of the work of Health-Insurance.de is in the area of statutory health insurance. However, our aim is to show interested parties in every life situation the way to a suitable insurance for their health risks.

On the Health-Insurance.de website, visitors are given the opportunity to obtain comparisons, information and advice on the subject of private health insurance. For this purpose, only personal data about factual or personal circumstances of a certain person are collected, insofar as the information is required to initiate a corresponding consultation or an online conclusion.

Which personal data is transmitted depends on the personal situation of the enquirer and results from the input masks used for this purpose. This data is required in order to be able to send information or offer information on desired health insurance contracts. Without the provision and processing of this data, the objective desired by the enquirer could not be achieved. If you use our service, you thereby consent to being contacted by post, telephone or e-mail only if it is necessary to achieve the objective. The data entered by the user in the form will only be used to process this enquiry and will be deleted after the statutory retention periods have expired.

In the area of comprehensive health insurance, we establish contact with a competent advisor. Data that users have submitted to us in a form in this context will only be passed on to an expert nominated by us after consultation with and approval of the person concerned. The name, address and qualification of the proposed advisor will be communicated to the interested party by us during the initial contact.

Private supplementary insurance policies that supplement the level of benefits provided by statutory health insurance can also be arranged by us. This applies in particular to supplementary insurances offered within the framework of cooperation agreements between statutory health insurances and private health insurances. This also applies to health insurance policies that cover travel or stay abroad or, conversely, to provide suitable insurance cover for foreigners coming to Germany.

For contracts that can be concluded online, the data is transmitted directly to the health insurance company concerned. In all other cases, the first contact is always made by an employee of Health-Insurance.de.

Within the scope of using the forms for conclusion, we store the IP address of the computer system used by the interested party assigned by the Internet service provider (ISP) as well as the date and time of registration. The collection of this data is necessary in order to be able to trace any misuse of the e-mail address of a data subject at a later date. It helps us to prove that we have fully complied with the rules of data protection at all times.

The personal data collected will be used exclusively for the purpose of providing advice and concluding a health insurance contract. Data will only be forwarded to the selected expert and the selected health insurance company. No personal data will be passed on to other third parties. The consent to the storage of personal data given by the data subject may be revoked at any time by sending an e-mail to the contact address indicated below on this page.

Art.6(1)(a) DSGVO serves as the legal basis for processing operations where we obtain consent for a specific processing purpose. If the processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract, the processing is based on Art.6(1)(b) DSGVO. The same applies to such processing operations which are necessary for the performance of pre-contractual measures.

2.3 Updating or deleting your personal data, revocation options
You have the option at any time to review, amend or have deleted the personal data provided to us by sending us an email or letter to the address listed at the bottom of this page. You also have the right to revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future.

We process and store your personal data only for the period of time required to carry out the change of health insurance company and the corresponding documentation obligations. Data entered via our forms will be deleted no later than two years after we receive it.

4.1 Use of systems for web analysis, optimisation and economic operation
